BUPA & Private Medical Insurance

Important Patient Information

If you are using BUPA private medical insurance for podiatry treatment, you must ensure that your treatment has been authorised before attending each appointment. Failure to obtain the correct authorisation may result in charges being payable by you.

1. Pre-authorisation

BUPA authorisation is required before every appointment.

BUPA authorises the individual podiatrist and the specific treatment, rather than the clinic as a whole. Before each visit, please confirm with BUPA:

  • The podiatrist you are seeing is authorised under your policy.
  • The appointment is covered.
  • The correct treatment codes have been approved.

Authorisation must be obtained for each visit, including follow-up appointments.

2. Fees and Payment

If BUPA does not cover your treatment, the clinic will issue an invoice directly to you. Payment is required within 14 days.

If your policy has an excess, BUPA will advise you of the amount payable and the clinic may invoice you directly.

The clinic cannot obtain BUPA authorisation on your behalf.

3. Patient Responsibilities

It is your responsibility to confirm that your treatment is covered before attending.

If you are unsure about your cover, please contact BUPA directly.

Once authorisation has been obtained, please provide the details by email to: manager@thedenepodiatry.co.uk

Booking an appointment confirms acceptance of the clinic’s terms and conditions.
